Moss Cap Spoon
Moss cap Spoon ⓒ from the Enchanted Garden Collection
Inspired by mountain mushrooms rising quietly through pine needles on the forest floor, the Moss Cap Spoon brings mushroom magic into everyday play. Is it a toadstool, a saffron milk cap, a button mushroom? Let your imagination decide.
Part of the Wild Mountain Child Enchanted Garden collection, the Moss Cap carving sits atop their signature branch handle that has been part of the Wild Mountain Child story since 2018. The branch handle was created to feel as though it had been gathered from the garden itself. Textured, tactile and familiar, it has become a recognisable part of our nature play tools.
These spoons have been tried and tested over many years in their own children’s hands, in their backyard mud kitchen, through seasons of potion making, messy play and quiet moments of imagination. They are designed first and foremost for mud kitchen play. Scooping soil, stirring rainwater, mixing petals and leaves, and creating the kinds of childhood magick that only exist outdoors.
They naturally support potion play and imaginative storytelling. Measuring, mixing and experimenting with simple elements found in nature. A handful of sand, a splash of water, a sprinkle of herbs a burst of fizz. Open ended play that grows with the child.
Rooted deeply in nature play, these spoons invite connection to the outdoors, loose parts and seasonal rhythms. They also find a beautiful place within sensory play setups, bringing warmth and authenticity to sensory trays, water play and tactile exploration.
Beyond play, these spoons move effortlessly into the home kitchen. Comfortable in both children’s and adult hands, they are practical for baking, stirring, measuring and everyday cooking. They are tools designed to be used, not displayed.
Crafted from sustainably harvested timber and finished in food grade oil, each spoon is ethically made with a strong eco focus. We prioritise responsible sourcing, small scale production, low waste packaging and long lasting design so these wooden mud kitchen and sensory play tools can be used, loved and passed on.
Designed to live wherever childhood happens. In sensory play, in the mud kitchen, and around your own family table.

Designed in Australia. Ethically and lovingly hand-carved, hand-sanded & hand-polished by Vietnamese artisans in a traditional craft village preserving ancient skills and providing income.
Due to the natural nature of this product. No two are the same, there are variations in the wood grains and craftsmanship giving each item its own personality.
Dimensions: 18 x3cm
Made from Doussie, a Vietnamese plantation timber. Finished with food-grade oil.
Wild Mountain Child wooden items have been handcrafted and are waxed with food-grade wax.
To keep your wood looking its best:
- Do not leave submerged in water for a really long time ( like a week) - play is ok and hang it up to dry after.
- Dry with a tea towel after getting wet
- Then keep it beautiful with a rub of bee's wax or vegetable oil into the wood to avoid the fibres lifting.
- Only use mild dishwashing detergent if needed
- Never put wood in the dishwasher
About Wild Mountain Child: They work with a small Vietnamese enterprise that promotes Vietnamese handicrafts ensuring stability in the industry, work from home opportunities for young mothers and protection for traditional skills and crafts.

I am besotted with this little gem of a shop for the luckiest little people in your life. Here the true magic of childhood is running free. I went to Kuddly for 2 little people in my life but then also found magical potions and the best sensory playdoh for my tween and beautifully handmade marbles for my teen. The playdoh is clearly made with love and smells heavenly and I couldn’t help but join in with my daughter when making playdoh ice creams. The lovely South African Jackie who helped me was like a fairy godmother and so very helpful and generous to even put my little trolley together so I didn’t have to do it at home. If you believe in magic this is the place 🍄❤️

Gorgeous! Gorgeous store, gorgeous product range, gorgeous owner. Lauren is like the gift fairy, she creates magic with every handpicked item in her store and makes every person who walks through the door feel special. My children's favourite birthday presents this year were the personally curated potion kits that Lauren put together for each of them. I called, passed on their specific requests and Lauren picked, wrapped and posted within the day! Such a great service for a busy mum.

I recently had a delightful experience at Kuddly Kids Buderim while shopping for a birthday present for a 1-year-old and a new baby gift. As a grandma, finding the perfect gifts can be challenging, but Jackie was incredibly helpful. She provided excellent suggestions and patiently assisted me throughout my shopping. After I chose and paid for the gifts, Jackie even wrapped them beautifully, which was a lovely touch. A big thank you to Kuddly Kids for their extensive range of products and exceptional customer service. Highly recommend this store to anyone looking to make their gift shopping a pleasant and effortless experience!
